The CHOOSEMATHS Awards celebrate mathematical achievement, creativity and excellence in Australian schools.

DO YOU KNOW AN INSPIRING TEACHER?

Are you or do you know an inspiring maths teacher whose influence and impact has shaped learning and success well beyond their classroom?

We are looking for Australia’s most engaging and innovative teachers dedicated to fostering student achievement, enjoyment and potential.  Someone who colleagues and fellow professionals look up to and go to for assistance and guidance and whose positive impact, influence and commitment to excellence has transformed their school’s mathematics program.

The CHOOSEMATHS Teacher Awards have multiple categories, with the major prize being awarded to a teacher who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in inspiring and fostering the participation of girls in mathematics.  The major prize includes $10,000 for the teacher to further develop their skills and $10,000 for the schools to fund a maths project or their choice.

The CHOOSEMATHS Student Awards encourage students to get creative as they step beyond the classroom to bring their understanding of mathematics to life on film.

Get your classrooms buzzing with conversations about mathematics as students use their imagination to create and submit a 3-5 minute video based on this year’s theme, OUR WORLD NEED MATHS.

Students to produce a video which explains a mathematical problem, or demonstrates an application of mathematics in a creative and entertaining way. Students compete as a team in order to foster a positive environment, giving them the opportunity to reason and work collaboratively.
