Professor Stephen Garnett is an environmental scientist with an interest in the knowledge needed to live sustainably in the tropics. As Professor of Conservation and Sustainable Livelihoods at Charles Darwin University, he is recognised internationally for his work on threatened species conservation, management and economics. He is also particularly interested in natural resource management and the opportunities this provides for livelihoods and enterprise development, and the biology of tropical systems.
Science and technology is as much a part of our cultural fabric as art, music, theatre and literature. They play a significant role in our daily lives, yet, in a world dependent on science, we often take them for granted. Australia’s Science Channel believes every citizen has a right, and a responsibility, to be informed, and our mission is to create programs to bring that about.
