Executive Manager, ATSE Schools Program Peter Pentland is the executive manager schools program for the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering. Peter has more than 18 years’ experience as a teacher of Maths, Science and Physics in public and private schools. He worked for 10 years as an education officer for Scienceworks, a hands-on science museum and a campus of Museum Victoria. His duties involved, among other things, managing the Lightning Room project. Peter has extensive experience in writing for education audiences, including physics text books for John Wiley and Sons for Victorian VCE and NSW HSC syllabi. He has also written science library books for primary school audiences aimed at inspiring young people to think about careers in science. Peter has delivered numerous STEM teacher professional development workshops nationally and overseas. He has contributed to the design of the STELR curriculum, equipment packs and support materials.
