Julie Shuttleworth was former General Manager at Solomon Mine and now is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Fortescue Metals Group. Her career in mining has gone from working as a metallurgist, extracting metal out of rock, to managing entire mine sites. This would be relevant alongside the Earth and Space Science curriculum for Year 8 looking at rocks and minerals or Year 7 Non-renewable Resources as well as Separation techniques and the applications to the real world of those from the Chemical Sciences Curriculum. Also relevant to the Work Studies Curriculum.
